Career Responsibilities:

  • Manages the overall grain inventory to maximize profitability for the company while utilizing the necessary risk management tools that are consistent with the grain position policy.
  • Assist the elevator personnel in logistics for inbound and outbound movement of grain.
  • Provide cash flow projections, storage plans and budget for the grain department.
  • Support grain department policies and adhere to controls of the department and company as per the Authorized Grain Position Policy.
  • Maintain and develop the marketing skills to add to the growth of the Grain Division.
  • Maintain the grain bids to insure an inbound flow of grain in a competitive footprint.
  • Communicate with end users and make regular sales of grain to maintain elevator logistics, while achieving company profit goals and objectives.
  • Support and develop strong communications with all grain locations and customers which enhances grain origination for the company.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Staff and Board of Directors.
  • Read and follow company employee policies.
  • Accepts additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the President / CEO.

Are You Qualified?

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability and willingness to learn company specific software.
  • Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and hedging experience required.
  • Prior experience in grain origination and selling both truck and rail.
  • Proven record of growing grain origination.
  • Prior experience leading a team to achieve and maintain goals and a positive work environment.
  • Excellent Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work longer hours as business conditions warrants.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Favorable pre-employment screening results
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 5-10 years of relative experience.
